I Was Here

I finished reading this book in less than five days. It was interesting. It's very hard for me to identify what I was feeling. The topic discuss in this book is heavy but it was told from the perspective of a young adult girl who just lost her best friend to suicide.

I Was Here by Gayle Forman

What is this book about?
When her best friend, Meg, commits suicide by drinking a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything—so how did she miss the signs of Meg's depression? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, and some secrets of his own. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open—until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question " excerpt from

What do I think about the book?
- I don't have any opinion about the author. This is my first book by this author.
- I'm can totally related to Cody when she felt like she doesn't know Meg at all. I totally don't get it why Meg never mention anything to Cody about her depression. Can you really be close to someone without really know who that person is?
- Her quest to find the one behind Meg's decision was ridiculous.
-I know that I enjoy reading and listening to the audiobook but after I've finished with it, the story and the characters did not stay with me.

I recommend this book if you like Gayle Forman. It's not bad but it was not great either.
